Whether you're hiking or biking, the Owl's Roost Trail promises a good workout. Voted the "best urban mountain biking trail" in the country by Bicycling Magazine, in 2003. The dips, twists, turns, and hops on the Owl's Roost Trail make it a regional favorite for single-track riding. This trail is rugged compared to some of the other watershed trails and is the most technical ride in the system.

Fisher Park consists of 12 acres and has a stream surrounded by woods. This neighborhood park has a natural walking paths and playground.

The Greenhaven Greenway flows through Greenhaven Park paralleling Ryan Creek. This neighborhood park allows residents to experience a number of outdoor activities in a scenic park setting.

Hamilton Lakes Park is a large neighborhood park with more than 60 acres of recreational opportunities. The natural wooded area is filled with trails and has a stream and playground on the northern end of the park.

The Hillsdale Greenway traverses a linear neighborhood park in the Four Seasons Mall area on the north side of Interstate 40. This park includes playground equipment, making it a perfect setting for the entire family to enjoy.

Located in Lake Daniel Park, the Lake Daniel Greenway is a paved multi-use path that stretches two miles from West Friendly Avenue to Mendenhall Street, west to east, paralleling Benjamin Parkway most of the way. Exercise stations are situated along the path for a great workout. In addition, the park offers public tennis courts, a basketball court, and a children�s playground.

A 200-foot boardwalk near the Old Battleground Road trailhead allows hikers to cross mud flats and bogs where Horse Pen Creek feeds into Lake Brandt.

Wild Turkey features a tight single track, moguls, sweeping burms, log pyramids, bridges of varying sizes, woop-dee-doos, some small climbs and a big rock jump. Bald Eagle Trail skirts the shores of Lake Higgins, providing beautiful scenery for hiking and mountain biking. It is considered a semi-technical mountain bike ride with its rooty sections and hairpin turns.

The Downtown Greenway is an urban paved greenway that typically is 12 feet wide with buffers between the greenway and roadways, and features enhanced landscaping and lighting, site furnishings and public art. When complete, this greenway will create a four-mile loop around the heart of downtown and connect not only other trails and greenways but businesses, universities and neighborhoods.

The Northeast Community Trail was constructed in 2004 through collaboration between the City and neighborhoods surrounding the trail. The Parks and Recreation Department worked closely with the Environmental Services Department to create a paved multi-use path along the buffer of the White Street landfill. The greenway provide the community with recreational opportunities on a beautifully-landscaped trail in northeast Greensboro.

Price Park is a natural oasis tucked away in Greensboro�s northwestern suburbs. The trails at Price Park meander through natural open space, abounding with plant and wildlife. The paved section of Price Park Greenway connects across Hobbs Road to the gravel section, offering an excellent place for walking or running.

The Rolling Roads Greenway ambles across abundant open space in Rolling Roads Park south of Four Seasons Mall. This 10-foot wide concrete trail skirts along South Buffalo Creek, providing recreation for people of all ages. Two small playgrounds are an added bonus to this beautiful neighborhood park.

The Shannon Hills Greenway links Shannon Woods Park and Shannon Hills Park. This neighborhood trail parallels Ryan Creek and is perfect for walking or jogging.

The Southeast Greenway links the Downtown Greenway to Sussman Park. It connects to the Downtown Greenway near the Freeman Mill off ramp and Lee Street.

Owl's Roost to Strawberry Rd. - The Atlantic & Yadkin Greenway (A&Y), Greensboro�s only current Rail Trail, provides opportunities to catch a glimpse of nature as well as reach urban destinations. Spot common and migratory birds, including bald eagles, blue herons, egrets, ospreys, and several duck species as you travel through the watershed. Many native plants and wildflowers grow in the shadows of mixed hardwoods and pines along this abandoned railway also. Take a break at the H. Michael Weaver Bridge to enjoy the scenic beauty of Lake Brandt. The A&Y provides a scenic alternative transportation route to Battleground Avenue for bicycle and pedestrian commuters.
