The winter youth cheerleading program is offered at the various Recreation Centers in conjunction with the youth basketball program. This program allows children ages 5-13 to participate in a recreational cheer program.

Proof of age and PAYS registration is required if you are registering your child for the first time in a City of Greensboro Athletic program; Please register in person at the Greensboro Sportsplex, providing a valid PAYS card and your child's Birth Certificate or upload these documents from My Account > Documents. Once the documents have been reviewed, you will be notified of eligibility to register.

Our Philosophy: We strive to provide quality after school programming for the youth of Greensboro. Our goal is for every child to leave with new skills, interests, friends, and life lessons.

The After School Program provides parents with an affordable option for childcare during the school year. Children ages 5-12 are taken care of by first aid and CPR-certified staff.

Children are allowed time to complete homework, socialize, and play while they wait for you to pick them up.

Greensboro Parks and Recreation does not provide transportation to and from After School Programs. Contact your school's transportation office to see if it offers drop-off service to your recreation center of choice.

Greensboro Parks and Recreation Afterschool Program has adopted ePact, a health and safety software to better support our members!

Have we got a fun Friday night planned for your kids! Drop off your 5-12 year-olds for an evening of games, crafts, dinner and a movie.

Greensboro Parks & Recreation, High Point Parks & Recreation, Kernersville Parks & Recreation, Lexington Parks and Recreation, Thomasville Parks and Recreation, and Winston-Salem Recreation & Parks are collaborating on an exciting program to get youth engaged with Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM)!

Participants will compete as individuals in four age groups: 8-10, 11-14, 15-17, and adult. Bridges will be judged based on how much weight it will support, divided by the total mass of the structure. The top three most efficient bridges in the youth categories and the first place in the adult category will advance to the regional competition. There will also be a prize in for the most creative design.

To register for this free competition, visit your local recreation center or bridge competition host site to receive construction supplies. Local competitions will be held February 1, 2025 and the regional competition will be held February 22, 2025.
