This area features a stone and paver walkway through the canopy of mature trees with a large variety of groundcover plants surrounding the large chimes. Beech Bluff Trail meanders through natural open space near the confluence of Brush Creek and Lake Higgins. The trail follows a hillside bluff through stands of beech trees, overlooking a wetland ecosystem that provides habitat to a variety of amphibian, reptile, mammal and migratory bird species. Various wildflowers are found along the trail.

Blue Heron offers an extension of the Reedy Fork trail via N. Church Street. The trail skirts along the shore line of beautiful Lake Townsend. There is plenty of variety too as the trail leads you out of the woods for multiple power line crossings. A few sections have deep gullies and dips that are fun to blast through and out of on your bike. Blue Heron flows great and is relatively easy for any rider or hiker to tackle.

Market St. to Leonard Recreation Center - The Bicentennial Greenway, a collaborative effort between Guilford County and the City of Greensboro brings a regional trail to the Triad. Approximately nine miles of the northern section of the trail is maintained by the City's Parks and Recreation Department. The trail has gone through several stages of development since its inception in 1989. Approximately seven miles of the Bicentennial Trail are completed in the High Point area (from Piedmont Environmental Center to Highway 68). Only 3.5 more miles of trail need to be completed before the two trail segments converge, providing an almost 20 mile greenway that connects the City of High Point to the City of Greensboro.
